Happy V-Day

Happy Valentines to my Sweet William, Mad-Pie and Brian! Today Brian asked what happened to the special Valentines Day dinners I used to cook :) Just a couple years ago it was stuffed lobster - now - well keeping with the seafood theme it's take-out sushi while the kids watch Finding Nemo - Ok - maybe not the best combination! But life has changed and WE LOVE IT! Madison now goes up and down the stairs by herself. Great - because she's getting so independent - Bad because yesterday - the kids got into some spackle Brian left in the hallway - bad idea. The Terror Team came marching down the stairs with William proudly announcing - Look at Maaason - she's a SNOW BUNNY! Yep - Madi somehow - got spackled - head to toe and so did the stairs and most of the upstairs hallway. I was very thankful for the brand new vacuum - probably not the best way to break it in!!! Later that evening with the kids slumbering in their beds - I decided to take a bath - only to find my tub was full of dinosaurs. I had laugh - kids spackling themselves - a bath tub full of dinosaurs - life has sure changed - but we still love it. Happy Valentines Day!

Potty Girl!

Little Miss Smarty Pants has done it again! She's a real potty champ! We've been on full time potty duty for the past week and she still runs for the "green frog" when she has to go and undresses herself! She hates wearing diapers so I need to go shopping for some "big girl pants" for her. Madi is coming up on 21 months and just growing like a weed. She's wearing 2T and in a Size 8 shoe - her socks moved up to 2T/3T. She's talking up a storm and enjoys reading her picture books and can identify quite a few items on the pages. She can say and identify most body parts - now we're working on counting to ten! Her favorite number is THREE - so we need to somehow get past that!!!

The Sleeping Chair!

Ok - you all know how The Mad and Sleep do not mix well! I think I finally found the answer - this Pottery Barn Kids chair! She LOVES LOVES LOVES her chair and often falls asleep in it! Just a few days she snacked on an Oreo (surprisingly milk-free!) and then fell asleep in her chair for over two hours with cookie still on her face - and sadly on her chair! Mommy has learned a lesson - next time - buy a patterned slipcover - Light Pink & Princess Destruction do not mix :)

New Potty Champ in the House!!!

We have a new potty champ in the house! Our Lil Miss Madi decided she wanted to be a big girl and basically potty trained herself! She's been going on and off on the potty for the past month or so - so I finally decided to put some effort into it and she's become a real pro! She undresses herself and goes on the potty - and we haven't had a wet or poopy diaper all day!
Hopefully this will continue!!! She sees everyone else going on the potty and wants to the same! Luckily I don't have to bribe her or offer any rewards.
I guess we're all finally getting used to Madi-Time. She is one determined, strong-willed little girl and when she decides she wants to do something - she does it!
She walked at 8 1/2 months, climbed out of her crib at 13, finally went to the "big girl" bed at 19 months and is now potty training at 20 months! We're keeping the car keys far away from this one just in case she decides she wants to drive by two!

More Snow Pix!

It's snowing AGAIN!!!!

We woke up this morning to 8 INCHES OF SNOW! Since I've lived in Atlanta - I've never seen so much snow here and this one came with a crispy coating of ice on top! The city was shutdown - roads iced over - good thing we had gone to the grocery store and stocked up the night before!

We bundled up the kiddies and used their rain boots instead of snow boots because we do in the South and don't own snow boots or snow pants for that matter - we barely need gloves! It was so deep and crunchy - poor Madi could barely walk and William said he didn't like the snow.

Later in the day - Brian couldn't resist firing up the hot tub and taking a dip -
I passed :)

We took one more run down the big hill in our yard and called it day.
It's supposed to ice over tonight - so we could be stuck with the snow and stuck in the house all week long! Happy New Year!

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas...

And we got it! The first White Christmas in Georgia since the late 1800's! It started snowing about 10am on Christmas Day and continued through the night. All in all we got about 3 inches! Both kids were cold and a little unsure about the snow - but William warmed up to it once he learned he could make snowballs and throw them at Mommy! Since we live in Georgia - we really don't have snow-gear but luckily William had a pair of rainboots that came in handy!
