5 years!

I can't believe it's been 5 years since Brian and I said "I do" on the beaches of St. Lucia! We looked at our wedding pictures tonight and I am convinced the children have aged us :) They may have aged us but I love them to pieces and would not trade them for the world and it was especially worth the extra wrinkles when William said - "Mommy looks like a Princess" when a picture of me in my wedding dress came on the screen. Gotta love those 3 year old comments! We celebrated with a family spaghetti dinner tonight but don't feel too sorry for us! Brian and I got to escape to the Bahamas for FIVE kid-free days - a record since our princess minded son entered the world. The stayed at The Cove at Atlantis and enjoyed the kid-free pool. We took a fam trip to the same destination last year but didn't not see or enjoy much of the place because we had a 2 & 1 year in tow - need I say more? We ventured off campus and had dinner at Oh Andros at Fish Fry - it was supposed to be a local spot but we found it a bit touristy. The next day we went deep sea fishing on a 48 foot Hatteras and caught 10 fish! Mostly bonitas and one yellow fin tuna - thanks to yours truly! We had a blast catching the fish and giving them away to the locals. We took our yellow fin to a local restaurant where he was promptly made into a grilled tuna and blackened tuna lunch served with traditional peas n rice and fried plantains and it was off the charts delicious! Later that night we dined at Iron Chef - Bobby Flay's Mesa Grille was fabulous! The next day we rode some of the slides and then relaxed at the Beach and Pool before heading to the Ocean Club for dinner. Dune at the One & Only Resort was incredible. We arrived early so we could tour the grounds and watch the sunset and we learned on the way over - it was also the location where they filmed the famous crash scene in Casino Royale - both of us are huge Bond fans so that was exciting! The red snapper over garlic spinach was our favorite meal of the trip - we headed back to Atlantis to had a drink at Nobu where we met The Chef - Gary Sheffield. I had no clue who this guy was so after he showed me pictures of his wife and kids and talked about his favorite restaurants on Nassau - Brian told me I was talking to one of the most famous baseball players of our time - cool guy - very low-key - I wish was having with drinks with Brad Pitt instead - but what can you do! Oh - and the most exciting part for me - I hit my unlucky - lucky number #13 on the roulette wheel and racked in a bundle on our first night! This was one of our best vacations - The Cove - we will be back - anyone want to watch the kiddies :)
