Happy Easter!

The Easter Bunny is very tired from a hippity hoppity fun weekend! It started Friday Night about 7pm when Brian put 18 pounds of Boston Butt on the Big Green Egg for the ultimate Easter cook-out - fast forward 14 hours or so and we had the most awesome pulled pork and 30-something friends and family descending on our house for Easter! We started the day with an egg hunt for the kiddies and then feasted on pulled pork and other tasty dishes. Some of the brave kiddies (including our own) got into the pool for the first time of the season! The company left and we had to very tired kiddies and a great night sleep. We started Easter Sunday off with a great service at church and came home and tried to the pictures - but the tot-some was not very snap happy this morning - so we gave up and opened Easter Baskets instead. Now this Easter Bunny is ready for bed - a long weekend - but a fun one with great friends and family.

Flowers are Growing and so are WE!

Spring is here! The temps are sticking in the 70's and 80's - the Azaleas are in full bloom - yeah for warm weather! Here's a couple of cute snaps of the partners in crime - they are complete goof-balls - do everything together and truly love each other when they're not fighting each other! And Lil Sis is catching up to William! She's currently 36 1/4 inches tall - "off the charts" for a 2 year old and she's not officially 2 til next month!

Easter Egg Champ!

Little Miss Madi-Cakes has quite the competitive spirit! At her very first Easter Egg Hunt - she sprinted to the front of the pack and collected more Easter Eggs than you can say Easter Eggs! We have quite the Easter Champ in the House! Meanwhile brother preferred to find an egg and dine and enjoy the contents before he moved onto the next egg. The season is just beginning - Happy Easter Egg Hunting!

The Mad

As we fast approach "The Terrible Two's" - I'm thinking what we can be so terrible - The Mad - has been pretty bad - since - well birth!!!! The non-sleeping YEARS - the stubborn YEARS - she's a little miss independence with a mind of her own - that is for sure. She's quite the smart little cookie though - dragging over some toliet paper to make herself a comfy seat - potty training herself - screaming bloody murder in crib so mom and dad would have to convert it to a big girl bed - pretty crafty! Her favorite person is William - or "Brother" as she calls him - followed by Mugsy - and then Daddy and me fall in line somewhere! We were at the doc the other day because she's fighting a bad stomach bug and got weighed and measured - we were shocked to learn she is 36 1/4 inches and 32 pounds! That puts her off the charts for height and in the 75% for weight. Her length is all in her legs - which means after 2 she'll be officially banned from skirts, dresses and short shorts! Oh The Mad - we just love her to pieces!

Easter Bunnies!

The sight of the Easter Bunny in the mall sent both children into tears - so we opted for a shot with the more natural looking Easter Bunny - REAL BUNNIES! With the kids frocked and smocked in their Spring Best - we loaded up the car for our adventure to Learning Express. Madi just LOVES LOVES LOVES animals and couldn't get enough of the petting zoo outside the store. William was just kinda like - whatever! He was all psyched up to hold the bunny for his picture and even thought about what color bunny he wanted - a white one! We go inside for the picture - and William hops up on the bench and asks to hold a white bunny - and his handed a black one instead - but he doesn't seem to care. Then we pop up sister on the bench - only to have a complete meltdown. Nothing is worse than a screaming, kicking child in a fancy dress and big bow. We decided to just do the picture with William - but suddenly Madison had a change of heart. She started playing with the bunnies and somehow turned it around. We popped her back up on the bench and she was happily playing with her little white bunny - they even gave her one to hold and she did GREAT! So I FINALLY got my wish - two toddlers - dressed in their spring best - smiling ear to ear in unison - holding their little Easter Bunnies! What more can I ask for :) HAPPY EASTER!

Happy Half Birthday to our Sweet William

William is 3 1/2 today! Officially on the road to four years old! I just don't know where the time has gone! Here's a look at back at my Lil Chunky celebrating his half birthdays through the years!

SWEET Summertime (almost!)

We are sooo excited about summer and it's almost here! We got a good taste of it today with a super hot Sunday spiking the 80 degree mark in the Atlanta! YEAH - almost time to jump into that pool! In the meantime - we had a great day! Madi modeled her FABULOUS new shades - William tried out his new rapid fire bubble gun - the kiddies took a spin around the yard in Madi's pink Jeep. William prefers to drive this one since it's faster than his Lightening McQueen car (sadly - true!) Sis is great with the gas pedal but a bad steerer - so brother usually drives. When we asked him what he wanted to be when he grows up - he said he wants to drive a fast car like Lightening McQueen - so I guess we're a racecar driver for the moment! William is actually a VERY GOOD driver and navigates the cars around the yard and driveway better than I could!!! After all that modeling, running, bubbling and driving - we had a rare event today - The Mad actually fell asleep in the swing! Yep - sacked out cold! We thought she was playing the "snoring game" but she was really asleep! We took her up to her room where she enjoyed a two hour slumber - then dined on Turkey - smoked on the Big Green Egg by Chef Brian - it was off the charts DELISH! What a great ending to a perfect spring day!
